Civil society organizations in Jerusalem call on the EU to immediately intervene with Israel to lift its siege of Gaza.

The war crimes and collective punishment Israel is committing against a civilian population of 1.5 million Palestinians in Gaza deserve an urgent intervention from your side. The European Union plays a very significant role in upholding respect for International Law and human rights globally and in the occupied Palestinian territories in specific. We call on the European Union to assume its responsibilities as guardian of universal human rights - including the Palestinians rights - and do all that is necessary to stop Israel from pursuing its mad, futile and counter productive policies and atrocities against the Palestinian people. The siege on Gaza has disastrous implications on the lives of 1.5 million Palestinians but Israel’s policies if continue unabated will also have extremely serious consequences on the political situation in the whole region.

Our message is to inform the European Union and its people of Israel’s attempts to annihilate a civilian population so that none will claim that “they did not know”...

Reluctance to act is unforgivable. History will not condemn those who were silent.

Act now to protect and save the lives of the Gaza population.
